Miami Dolphins offensive line: Who could replace Jamaree Salyer?
Salyer's IR stint leaves a gap on the offensive line — here's a look at who could fill it
The Miami Dolphins placed Jamaree Salyer on Injury Reserve on Sunday (Per Palm Beach Post) which ends his tenure with the team for this coming season. Luckily, Miami swung a trade for Caedan Wallace who was about to be released from the New England Patriots. This move was done with Salyer factored into the teams plans, so I am certain they will scour the waiver wire for potential swing offensive tackles to keep the offensive line depth intact.
Here are some quick roster bubble options that may be a cheap trade or waive wire option:
Walker Little – Jacksonville Jaguars
Dawand Jones – Cleveland Browns
Kiran Amegadjie – Chicago Bears
Blake Fisher – Houston Texans
Walter Rouse – Minnesota Vikings
I’m not going to go into a whole analysis on each one, but all of these players have two key things: youth and potential. A couple of these players were higher draft picks that have not panned out, so they may require a late round pick swap to avoid the waiver wire. The goal here is to lock up swing tackle depth, Wallace seems like iOL depth. The goal this year is to see if Malik Willis is QB1, so keeping his line stacked with bodies will be crucial in a 17 NFL game gauntlet.
