Achievements courtesy of my past:
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Management from WGU
- A failed faith-based YouTube channel
- A beautiful wife
- And a gorgeous little girl of five months
With these achievements in mind, can you imagine who the person writing this article is? Does knowing I am from a small town in East Texas and currently living in what Texans “technically” call Dallas change it? How about painting a sad story of humble beginnings, and casually mentioning I am in between jobs? Do you imagine this person now? I could go on and on about my difficult life, how I found my wife because Christ metaphorically slapped me in the face, but NO.
You are here to read about my love for football. More importantly, my love for the Dolphins, not my sob story. I could start with the 2019 Dolphins, a season I followed closely. A season typical of Dolphins chaos. With a new head coach, a new roster, and Ryan Fitzpatrick, who made the last game of the Tom Brady Pats, feel like a Dolphins swan song! Or relive the Miami Miracle, the game where the emotions of the season ripped our hearts out of our chests?
No, we go to the year 2007. My age Eleven. The Dolphins 0-13
The Ravens vs Dolphins: My brother chose the Ravens, and I, the Dolphins, pure sibling spite!
First Quarter:
One field goal by the Ravens. A drive where I thought, why did I pick them? And tons of pressure on the QB. Wait, Cleo Lemon, who is this crappy guy? 3-0
Second Quarter:
Field goal kick by the Ravens, Lemon is playing better? Camarillo, omg, Oh wow, a field goal makes it a 6-3 game going into the half! But wait, the Ravens scored a touchdown, ugh 13-3. Wow, this is going horribly!
Third Quarter:
That Ginn Jr. guy is super-fast, That number 54 has my same first name! That number 99 is everywhere and built like a fridge. Woah, the Dolphins scored a running td 10-13 Let’s go, Dolphins! Come on!
Fourth Quarter:
Omg, they are winning, omg they are tied again, ugh, Onward to Overtime!
Overtime:
Omg, the Ravens MISSED. My heart is jumping out of my chest! THAT CAMARILLO GUY SCORED LETTTSSSSS GOOOO!! THE ORIGINAL MIAMI MIRACLE!! That whirlwind was the first full football game I had watched.
A reasonable question to ask: Did Miami win another game after that one?
Nope, 1-15
2008, ignited my love for the sport, and it had so much heartbreak that year I couldn’t stop watching! My life and the history of the Dolphins have something in common. Neither stay completely down, living on the hopium! And the saying at the top ends …
